Not many places in the United States hold the distinction of tying together the lives of one of its most important founding fathers and America’s favorite country music sweetheart, however Frederick County can be counted among them. At two very different points in time, Frederick County was home to Colonel George Washington and many years later to Patsy Cline. It is through these unique facets of history that Frederick County has made its name over the years.

Located in the northern tip of Virginia, Frederick County is the pride of the Shenandoah Valley, one of the most beautiful regions in the United States. Characterized by its rolling river valley and bounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to the east, Frederick County captures home owners’ delight with its spectacular countryside and vibrant downtown areas such as the one in its county seat, the city of Winchester.
